MEBC Beliefs

John 3:23 (NRSV) reads, “John also was baptizing at Aenon near Salim because water was abundant there; and people kept coming and were being baptized.” “Aenon” can be spelled various ways, including “Ennon” or “Enon”.

The geometric waves in the church’s logo symbolize the water baptism referenced in John 3: 23, and there are 3 such waves for each person of the Godhead; one for the Father, one for the Son, and one for the Holy Spirit. Since water is characterized by perpetual movement and progress, the ministry of Mt. Ennon Baptist Church resists becoming stagnant and stationary as we seek to serve the Lord and spread the love and good news of Jesus Christ. We seek to remain constantly open to the move of the Holy Spirit and the leading of the Lord in our corporate and individual lives. Like water, the ministry and members of Mt. Ennon Baptist Church are constantly on the move. Mt. Ennon is a church “For People On The Grow.”

MEBC Core Values

• Biblical Preaching and Teaching - 1 Peter 1:24-25 The Word of God is the final authority; it is true; it is unchangeable; it is to be used to equip the saints to achieve our mission.

• Worship - John 4:24 God is worthy of all honor, glory and respect because of Who He is – Omnipotent, Omniscient, and Omnipresent. We worship Him in spirit and in truth in all aspects of our daily walk.

• Prayer - Hebrews 4:16  We cherish our privilege to communicate directly with God at any time. Prayer is essential to our spiritual growth.

• Love - John 15:12 God is Love. He displayed the ultimate love by sacrificing His Son – the Greatest gift! We strive to walk in selfless and enduring love.

• Fellowship - Hebrews 10:25 Fellowship with the saints is essential to our Godly life. We know that we need each other.

• Unity - Ephesians 4:2-3 In unity, we endeavor to walk together on the same road and in the same direction as we are led by Jesus Christ.

• Vision – Isaiah 55:8-9 While our vision is limited; God’s is not. His ways and thoughts are so much higher than ours. We thrust His vision and movement to transform MEBC into the Caring, Christ-centered; community Church with a Kingdom Agenda.

• Innovation - Isaiah 43:19 We believe that God’s vision is progressive and as such we believe that the ministry of the church should bed progressive, embracing Godly innovation to keep us on the cutting edge of what God is doing in the Body of Christ.
